Cardholder Name and Signature

Upon receiving your card, first make sure your name is spelled as it appears on your passport.
Cards that have not been signed by the cardholder are invalid. The cardholder will not receive compensation for misuse of unsigned cards.
Making a transaction using an IC card reader while overseas will require entry of the IC chip PIN, which must be registered at a Hana Bank branch before traveling overseas.

PIN

Avoid using personal information such as your resident registration number, vehicle number, or telephone number or a number that is easy to guess (numbers in a series, repeating the same number multiple times, etc.) and do not write down the PIN on your notepad.
You will not receive compensation if someone found out your PIN and misused your card.

Changes

If your address, telephone number, place of work, or account for settling credit card payments has been changed, please visit a Hana Bank branch or contact Hana Card’s customer center (1800-1111).

Loss and Theft

If your card has been lost or stolen, contact Hana Card’s customer center (1800-1111) right away.
Once reported lost or stolen, the card will be rendered unusable and a replacement card will be issued within two business days. (If automatic reissue has been requested.)
When reporting your card lost or stolen, make sure to check recent transactions made on the card.
To reverse a card that has been reported lost or stolen, you must visit a Hana Bank branch in person (with ID) or contact Hana Card’s customer center (1800-1111).

Cardholder Protection

If your lost or stolen credit card has been misused, please visit a Hana Bank branch.
You will be compensated for unauthorized transactions made on your lost or stolen card between 60 days prior to and 60 days after it was reported lost or stolen, except as the cardholder is deemed to be at fault as per the membership agreement.
Unauthorized transactions that took place before 60 days prior to the card being reported lost or stolen will require the cardholder to provide proof and demonstrate he or she was not at fault as per the membership agreement in order to be compensated.
Up to W20,000 in investigation fee will apply per card. (For BC Card products, only applies if the total sum of unauthorized transactions in question exceeds W200,000.)

Overseas Use

Check your overseas spending limit before traveling overseas. If you need to raise your limit, please contact Hana Card’s customer center (1800-1111).
Check your card’s expiration date. If it is coming up soon, request for a renewed card.
Make sure the card can be used overseas before traveling.
Make sure to use your own card and that the name on the card matches the name on your passport.

Sales Slip

Check the transaction amount on the sales slip before signing.
If the sales slip is missing information or contains incorrect information, do not sign it.
Tear sales slips containing incorrect information into two.
Customer copies of signed sales slips can be used as receipts and comes in handy when tracking your purchases.

Credit Information Agreements

Cardholders’ transaction history and payment information are shared amongst financial institutions via credit information companies, The Credit Finance Association, and Korea Federation of Banks. Failure to settle credit card payments on time, therefore, may harm your credit score.
Limitations may be imposed on use of Hana Card products based on the individual cardholder’s credit information received from other financial institutions.

Fixed-Term Limit

Fixed-term limit is determined based on the cardholder’s requested limit and Hana Card’s reviewed limit.
Fixed-term limit consists of direct transaction, installment transaction, short-term card loan (cash service), and overseas transaction limits, all of which are managed comprehensively.
Authorized card limits are managed within the main cardholder’s limit.
Overseas use limit is managed on a monthly basis and, if not requested, is set to ￦20,000,000 within the cardholder’s fixed-term limit for cardholder protection purposes.

Temporary Limit

Cardholders may raise their credit limit for a fixed duration of time by requesting a temporary limit.
During the temporary limit term, temporary limit can be restored by amounts settled.
Use of a temporary limit and duration of a temporary limit may be limited depending on the cardholder’s credit status and card use history.
Maximum temporary credit term is three months. Once the term has expired, the fixed-term limit will be restored. Here, transactions made while the temporary limit was in effect will be included as transactions under the fixed-term limit, resulting in an insufficient credit balance.

Special Limit

If you are expecting a temporary increase in your expenses such as for purchasing a car or getting married, you may request for a special limit.
While a special limit is in place, making settlement payments to the account does not restore the limit.
Use of a special limit and duration of special limit may be limited depending on the cardholder’s credit status and card use history.
Maximum special credit term is three months. Once the term has expired, it is automatically removed regardless whether it has been used or not.
Special limit does not apply to authorized cards.

Check Card Limit

Default limits are ￦5,000,000 per transaction, ￦5,000,000 per day, ￦20,000,000 per month for each card.
The monthly limit is managed based on transaction between the first and last days of the month.
The check card may be used within its balance and limit for both domestic and overseas transactions.
Overseas transactions and domestic transactions are management comprehensively and within the card’s limit.

Use Limit on Simultaneous Hana SK Card and Hana Card Members

Hana SK Card products and Hana Card products can be used within their respective limits until the processing systems of the two brands are integrated. To check or change your Hana Card product’s limit, please contact Hana Card’s customer center (1800-1111) or visit Hana Card’s website.
You will be notified of any limit change taking place after integration of the two processing systems.

Merchants

Accepted at all credit card merchants nationwide.

Usage Limits

\5,000,000 a day, \20,000,000 a month for domestic use and $2,000 a day, $10,000 a month for overseas use for up to the remaining account balance.
Daily and monthly usage limits can be increased or removed altogether by contacting Hana Card’s customer center (1800-1111) or visiting a Hana Bank branch.

Settlement

Transaction amounts are withdrawn immediately from the settlement account and appear on the account holder’s bankbook.

Yes Gift Card

Yes Gift Card is an anonymous pre-paid card. It can be given as a gift or transferred to another person.
A Gift Card can be used at all credit card merchants. (However, at some department store/wholesales store it could be rejected or limited.)
